Brine clings to the underbody, wheel wells and rocker panels, and it keeps pulling moisture out of the air even on dry days. The melt uncovers a winter of sand, gravel dust and dried brine. Everything is grey and gritty, especially the lower panels and wheel wells.
Pick: a wand bay. Pre-soak the whole car, rinse before you touch anything, then soap. Finish with the spot free rinse.
Bugs on the highway home from the lake, tar from fresh chip seal, bird droppings and tree sap, and UV that fades paint and dash plastics.
Pick: Arctic Supreme or Ultimate touchless. Durashield protects from U.V. rays and resists soils between washes.
Wet leaves, mud from the first wet gravel, and the last chance to put protection on the paint before the salt trucks roll.
Pick: a full wand wash with wax or Rainbow Protectant, then vacuum out the leaves before they rot in the cowl.
Salt, sand and calcium chloride brine from the first snowfall to the last. Brine clings to the underbody and keeps attacking metal even on dry days.
